More tech layoffs could soon be on the horizon, as Twitter&#8217;s new boss Elon Musk laid off 3,700 workers at the social media company on Nov. 4, laying off half of its workforce.\n<br>\nOver the past decade, technology companies have prided themselves on their rapid growth rates while burning through money. But with a global recession looming, the Silicon Valley companies that announced layoffs last week could be a barometer to predict the direction of the overall economy. The duration and severity of this recession may be longer than many expect.\n<br>\nStripe&#8217;s CEO Patrick Collison emailed employees last week to announce 1,000 layoffs.
