The first public park in the nation, Central Park is still where New Yorkers go to get a breath of fresh air and recharge. Thanks to its varied terrain – lush meadows, exposed bedrock, wild woodlands, lakes, gardens and a reservoir – the park bursts with biodiversity, including rare flora and fauna. And, much like the city that surrounds it, it hums with history and culture. The park is known for its outdoor theater, charming eateries, ice skating rink, Reservoir running track, a tribute to John Lennon and Alice in Wonderland statue – and endless attractions that any traveler will want to see.
